RINA is currently recruiting for a Senior Highway Engineer to join its office in Lisle, IL within the Civil Engineering Division.

Mission

Join our growing Highway / Roadway Project Team and be a critical member of a regional design team as it expands its presence.

The Senior Highway Engineer is an active participant in the project execution, calculation, and design of engineering projects including gathering / analyzing technical data to prepare detailed engineering designs and drawings, as well as monitoring / coordinating the technical deliverables required for client projects.

This Senior Highway Engineer may oversee the technical work of one or more Staff Engineer(s), Engineer(s), Designer(s), and / or Drafter(s) and delegate work, as appropriate to engineering team members. Additionally, the Engineer acts as the liaison between the Project Manager and other project team members, relaying important and relevant project information. The Project Engineer may accompany the Project Manager on site visits and meetings with clients, and participate in proposal writing (RFPs), setting up project scopes, defining deliverables, and monitoring schedules and budget costs.

Key Accountabilities

• Responsible for designs, CAD drawings, and specifications on assigned projects, under the guidance / direction of Project Manager
• Works with other engineers on a project team, maintaining effective communication with project team members, other departments, suppliers, and clients
• Coordinates with drafters, designers, and staff engineers within project team
• Completes drawings / project responsibilities within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Reviews drawings for completeness, accuracy, and constructability.
• Develops conceptual and basic engineering documents including studies, design criteria, equipment specifications, etc.
• Utilizes computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
• Observes safety and security procedures
