The primary purpose of this position is to manage all field sales efforts within the South x West region. This includes the Pacific Northwest, Southwest, and Southeast Districts.

Specifically :

  • Responsible for achieving regional sales objectives
  • Manage 5 direct reports and indirectly up to 26 field sales personnel
  • Successfully create the right growth mindset within the region
  • Identify growth opportunities and create a strategy to capture it
  • Successfully implement sales strategies
  • Responsible for development of sales personnel
  • Build relationships with VELUX customers
  • Possible National Account Management of large customers

Primary responsibilities include :

  • Developing and implementing annual sales force strategy.
  • Successfully recruit, build out, and develop our Installer partners.
  • Develop and implement a builder strategy in the region to increase skylight penetration.
  • Develop a plan to aggressively attack low share markets.
  • Working with and supporting business drivers within the region.
  • Directing all sales efforts towards achieving budgeted sales goals.
  • Participate in recruiting, training, and developing field sales personnel.
  • Preparing annual sales forecasts and sales expense estimates.
  • Operating within established expense budget.
  • Monitor sales results and redirect sales efforts accordingly.
  • Building relationships with customers.
  • Provide feedback to the Director of Sales regarding improvements.
  • Position location : ideally in CA, TX, AZ, WA, OR, or NV (Reno).

    Qualifications : Bachelors degree required. Willing and able to travel. Should spend 40% of time in the field on sales rides and customer visits throughout the South x West Region. This will mean between 70 and 80 travel nights a year. Minimum of five years of sales management experience required. High energy and enthusiasm. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Strong leadership, employee development, and interviewing skills. Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills.
