VA Geriatrician in Reno, NV-Close to Lake Tahoe

The Reno VA Medical Center is seeking a compassionate, caring Geriatric & Palliative Care Physician to work in our Primary Care Clinic at our facility. If you love working with the aging population, you will be delighted to work with our aging veterans.

The Geriatrics & Palliative Care physician will :

• Provide clinical care and oversee the education of residents, fellows, and medical students.
• Provide quality care to both inpatients and outpatients for adults 18-65 and older adults age 65+
• Demonstrate sound decision-making skills, both clinical and administrative
• Serve as staff attending for sub-specialty consult service as assigned
• Systematically evaluate patient care programs in all Medicine venues
• Develop the initial plan of care and update plan as needed
• Identify acute / non-acute / chronic health problems

Work Schedule : Monday through Friday, 8 : 00am to 4 : 30pm

Pay : Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Paid Time Off : 50 55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

Retirement : Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Insurance : Federal health / vision / dental / term life / long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)

Licensure : 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

CME : Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)

Contract : No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
