Senior Warehouse Associate
The Senior Warehouse Associate assists in the overall management of the warehouse operations including developing policy, procedures, and plans for the specific stocking location. This position will report directly to the department manager and is accountable for prioritizing warehouse activities to ensure daily goals are met and company policies and procedures are being followed to maintain a safety-first culture. Accountable for shipping, receiving, stocking, and distribution of shipments. Oversees operation and preventative maintenance on all branch equipment to obtain maximum efficiency and to ensure the longevity of all fixed assets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Receives and unloads inbound shipments. Inspects shipments for damage and accuracy
- Operates fork truck, powered pallet jack, manual pallet jack, dolly, etc., to move material throughout warehouse
- Reads packing slips, checks accuracy against materials received, and enters information into the ERP system to account for receipt of materials
- Marks materials with identifying information as needed
- Conveys and puts away parts in the appropriate locations within the warehouse shelves, bins, racks in accordance with predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, product code, etc.
- Uses the ERP system to determine customer material needs and releases parts to orders
- Reads and interprets pick tickets, locates and picks parts, and distributes them within the facility or prepares them for outbound shipment as needed
- Uses carrier websites to create shipping documents and arranges freight shipments with customers or carriers. Prepares parcel packages and LTL loads for shipment
- Requests warehouse supplies as needed
- Completes inventory cycle counting requirements as assigned
Qualifications and Skills :
Minimum High school diploma or equivalentThree (3) years of warehouse or inventory experienceFork lift experience requiredAbility to maintain an appropriate attendance recordMust have good initiative, dedication, problem solving skillsMust be available to work weekends as well as overtimeMust be able to work in an industrial environment including temperature extremes of heat and cold, dust, noise, outdoor weather conditions, and wear all required personal protective equipment.Must be physically fit including lifting up to 50 lb., pulling, reaching, and climbing.Must pass a drug testDemonstrates strong self-motivation and discipline by efficiently completing tasks and solving problems while working independently with minimal supervisionNetSuite ERP is a PLUSDearing's Benefits Program Includes :
