Dixie Technical College seeks a friendly, detail-oriented Café Cashier to handle transactions, assist with food prep, and provide excellent customer service.

Summary :

An accountable Cashier processes all cash and credit transactions accurately and efficiently in accordance with established College policies and procedures. The duties and responsibilities of the cashier include greeting customers when entering or leaving the Café, ringing up sales, collecting payment, maintaining a clean and tidy checkout area and dining room, and keeping reports of cash and credit transactions. Attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and the ability to work well under pressure are essential for success in this role. The hours needed are generally from 10 : 00 a.m. to 2 : 00 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

The position pays $15-17 per hour, depending on experience.

Required Duties and Responsibilities :

• Assist chefs with preparing meals for the Cafe
• Handle cash transactions with customers using cash registers
• Scan goods and collect payments
• Issue receipts, refunds, change, or tickets
• Redeem stamps and coupons
• Make sales referrals, cross-sell products, and introduce new ones
• Resolve customer complaints, guide the,m and provide relevant information
• Greet customers when entering or leaving establishments
• Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
• Keep records of transactions
• Bag, box, or wrap packages
• Stock items
• Pleasantly deal with customers to ensure high satisfaction
• Assist other café staff in cleanup, dishes, and next-day preparations
• Adherence to all Dixie Tech Policies and Procedures
• Other duties as assigned
