Project Accountant

About Our Client

The company is a $20M dollar General Contractor looking for a Project Accountant to join their growing organization. Their main specialization is projects between $30M - $40M and have been taking on a number of new projects around the Chicagoland area.

Job Description

• Manage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Prepare and review project cost reports and ensure timely invoicing.
• Collaborate with project managers to monitor financial performance and address discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes related to projects.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records for audit purposes.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement in project accounting procedures.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Project Accountant should have :

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience in project accounting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Foundation & ProCore
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving financial discrepancies.
