Summary
The Independent Operator is proficient in all roles throughout the warehouse and has greater proficiency in the computer system. They are also focused on pulling, checking and packing orders with productivity, quality and accuracy for all outbound shipments to end users, dealers or subsidiaries or for replenishing stock. This position will be responsible for restocking shelves, picking / packing orders, and loading / unloading trucks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following, other duties may be assigned

- Sort orders for customer and date of delivery.
- Maintain high productivity, quality and accuracy.
- Be able to understand automated scanning system fully.
- Maintain cleanliness of aisles, bins, packing stations and other
areas on the shipping dock.
Observing all Safety and Weber regulations, understanding of proper manual lifting techniques.Will need to process orders.Must be able to drive a forkliftMust be able to rotate to all applicable positions noted belowMeet the assigned rate of the jobOrder Picking
Pull orders based on efficient travel through the picking locations.Check the part numbers, descriptions, and quantities for each order.Periodically validate the bin / shelf quantity for the part with the quantity showing in the system.Comprehend basic warehouse layout of bins / shelfs and items, including overstock and secondary locations.Replenish Shelf and Bin locations.Notify cell leaders and supervisors of incorrect units of measure, expiration product, wrong item numbers, or damaged product.Interact with Inventory Associate daily to ensure accurate inventory.Use the wave / JLG or ladder to pick in higher locationsUse of Reach Truck or Order picker for “Driver” designated picksPacking for Parcel Order
Pack orders in assigned cartons by making boxes and using foam machine or bubble pack for parts protection.Verify correct part numbers, description, and quantity when packing orders.Place completed orders on conveyor for further processing.Read and understand the pick ticket, including special instructions,Next Day Air, Second Day Air, QA Inspect, Driver Pick, etc.
Operating a computer used to process orders and print shipping labelsUnderstand proper packaging materials and procedures, includingweights, temperature requirements, corrugated boxes, labels, and
proper routing.
Maintain and stock proper inventory of packing supplies.Sort packages by carrier designation (Express, Smartpost, Canada, Ground) and assist with loading the truck when neededPacking for Large Customer Orders
Check labels to determine all Carriers package by visually noticing the label. Separate all Carriers packages and stack on separate skids, shrink wrap, and load on truck.Understand proper packaging materials and procedures, including weights, temperature requirements, corrugated boxes, labels, special placards, and proper routingPack material picked into the system using an RF gunFor export orders pack to Country of OriginSort orders by Country and Date of deliveryPack orders in assigned cartons by making boxes and using bubble pack for parts protection.Check part numbers with description when packing ordersPlace completed orders on proper skids to be shippedVerify labels to determine which country to be ship to and that orders are on the correct skid. Make sure skids are shrink-wrapped and loaded on the correct truck.Packing to Stock
Performs more complex assemblies involving multiple parts. Assemble parts by arranging parts, screwing and fastening miscellaneous parts, and testing parts according to specific quality and production standards.Prepares packing materials for use by ordering, counting, assembling, protectively wrapping and arranging parts in a carton or rack according to specific quality production and transportation standards.Labels products by identifying and applying labels to parts or cartons.Monitors quality of production by self-check, successive checks and comparison to quality standards.Active with troubleshooting and continual improvement of the process.Keep tools in good working order.Stock proper inventory of packing supplies.Loading / Unloading
Works with the flow of parts / materials with the operation by driving a standup and / or sit-down forklift to appropriate location (loading and unloading parts).Will require the use of putting away pallets in double deep racks.Issues requested materials to requested stations. Reads tags which include numbers, descriptions and destinations. Checks the ticket information and matches information on the racks.Check, verify and comprehend directions or request from supervisor and other employees.Maintains inventory accuracy by moving material to correct locations.Inspects the material before it is put in location or packed away and maintains warehouse space by stacking in a logical order.Accurately loads / unloads materials by use of the forklift / clamp truckMaintains equipment by completing the appropriate equipment check list daily. (Checks fluids, brakes, etc.)Contacts appropriate department for repairs.Monitors quality of production by self-check, successive checks and comparison to quality standards.Active with continual improvement of the process.Competencies To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies :
