Senior Project Architect (Technical Focus)
Advance the craft of building execution, lead with technical excellence, and mentor the next generation of architects in a collaborative, design-driven environment.
About the Role :
As a Senior Project Architect with a technical focus, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring design intent translates seamlessly into built form, across all projects, firm-wide. You’ll lead documentation and coordination efforts across all project phases, elevate technical standards, and mentor teams in best practices related to constructability, detailing, and building performance. This hire is a strategic need- with the opportunity to make a lasting impact on how the firm delivers design excellence through technical precision.
Key Responsibilities :
- Technical Leadership : Oversee the technical development of projects from schematic design through construction administration, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and constructability.
- Documentation Oversight : Guide and review construction document sets, ensuring coordination across disciplines and adherence to codes, standards, and project goals.
- Code and Standards Expertise : Serve as a resource on building codes, life safety, accessibility, and zoning, helping teams navigate complex regulatory requirements.
- Quality Assurance : Lead QA / QC reviews and contribute to firmwide standards, detailing libraries, and technical best practices.
- Envelope and Detailing Excellence : Provide leadership in building envelope design, waterproofing strategies, and material performance.
- Mentorship : Support and mentor emerging architects, strengthening their technical skills and confidence in documentation, coordination, and detailing.
- Collaboration : Assist teams in coordinating with consultants, engineers, and contractors to proactively resolve technical challenges and uphold design integrity.
- Construction Administration : Mentor junior-mid level staff in this phase- submittal reviews, respond to RFIs, and perform site visits to assess progress and compliance, etc.
- Continuous Learning : Stay current with evolving technologies, codes, materials, and sustainability standards, and help disseminate knowledge across the firm.

Preferred Qualifications :
- 10+ years of experience in architectural practice with a strong technical emphasis.
- Professional degree in Architecture; licensure preferred.
- Proven expertise in building codes, envelope design, detailing, and construction methodologies.
- Experience producing and managing comprehensive construction document sets.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit; familiarity with Bluebeam, Lumion, and Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with a passion for teaching and mentoring.
