Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct physical exams and gather medical histories to assess donor suitability.
  • Build rapport with donors to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain confidentiality for both donors and staff.
  • Educate donors about potential health hazards and provide both general health education and counseling for unacceptable test results.
  • Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events.
  • Assess medical history and medications to ensure continued donor suitability.
  • Assist in training new employees.
  • Administer the Hepatitis Vaccine program for employees.

    • Job Requirements :

    Must be educated and currently certified / licensed as an EMT, Paramedic, or LPN according to state regulations. Current CPR certification is required.

    Attributes Required :

  • Ability to work in standing and sitting positions for 2 to 4 hours at a time.
  • Capability to bend and twist the neck for up to 1 to 2 hours per day.
  • Frequent hand movements and the ability to perform precise coordinated movements.
  • Occasional foot movements; ability to squat, crouch, or sit on heels as required.
  • Light lifting of up to 15 lbs. with a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Essential hearing acuity and visual ability corrected to 20 / 30 in one eye and 20 / 100 in the other.
  • Strong communication skills to convey information clearly and listen effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with oral or written instructions.
  • Thrive in a dynamic environment with varying demands.
  • Comfortable relating sensitive information to diverse groups.
  • Work is conducted in a plasma center with potential exposure to biological fluids and infectious organisms.
  • Utilization of personal protective equipment required, including eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold-gear for exposure to temperatures below 32 degrees F in plasma freezers.
