The Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) is filling two (2) Systems
Programmer II positions in the Database Management Support group. The position
will be located at Pacific Stock Exchange Building, 233 S. Beaudry Ave. The
available schedule is 5 / 40 or 9 / 80 with a start time between 7 : 00 AM and 8 : 00
AM, Monday through Friday, in accordance with ITSD's core business hours.
The duties of the positions include, but are not limited, to the following :
- Install, configure, and maintain the IBM Content Manager On Demand(CMOD) System running in the Linux & Windows platforms. The CMOD System provides storage and retrieval of LADWP customer bills and reports.
- Install, configure, and maintain the IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT) running on Linux Server. The ILMT scans network servers for IBM software usage.
- Installs, configures, and maintains the Ricoh Process Director (RPD) System in Linux platform. RPD system is our bill print system to print our customers' bills.
- Maintain the DR print-to-mail service to support off-site DR bill printing and insertion.
- Maintain script on Linux platform. Code script on Windows platform.
- Plan and participate in Disaster Recovery testing between Coresite and Disaster Recovery site in Las Vegas.
- Provide technical support for recovering corporate data from backup data for user communities.
- Provide technical assistance to Data Center Operations and Production Control staff in backup operation of corporate data.
- Provide guidance and consultation services to other IT personnel and DWP divisions in the use of systems software and hardware facilities.
- Research new technology, make technology recommendations, prepare and
- develop project plans, and implement approved projects.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Overtime and some travel may be required. May be required to report to other
locations to perform daily work. A valid California Driver's License is required
and must be maintained during the course of employment.
Candidates will be evaluated for the following work-related skills, knowledge, abilities :
Knowledge or experience in planning and designing Windows, Linux, andVMware computing environments, which includes understanding of varioushardware, software, storage and network inter-dependences.Strong programming and scripting skills, JavaScript, Python, Bash / Shell, andPowerShell.Experience in setting up, managing, and troubleshooting file shares andpermissions.Knowledge in problem solving skills to analyze and develop technical andbusiness solutions.Knowledgeable in identifying, evaluating, and implementing emergingtechnologies in system development according to business needs.Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with the user community and projectteams.Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) to interactwith customers, technical personnel, and project team.The evaluation of candidates for these positions may be based on a review of
training and experience as presented on the resume / application and an interview.
