Accounts Receivable Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Monmouth County, New Jersey. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing financial transactions, maintaining records, and ensuring efficient payment processes for customers and vendors. This is a long-term contract position, offering an opportunity to contribute to the success of our accounting operations.

Responsibilities :

  • Process and record customer payments while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
  • Generate and distribute invoices to customers in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and update customer account information, including changes in addresses, mergers, or other updates.
  • Prepare detailed reports on account statuses and outstanding balances as requested.
  • Investigate discrepancies and overdue amounts by collaborating with team members and customers.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable regularly to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Assist senior accounting staff with monthly revenue account reconciliations.
  • Verify expense reports and reconcile them with account balances and supporting documents.
  • Facilitate vendor payments by reviewing purchase orders, verifying information, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Support the accounting department by managing monthly statements and financial transactions.

Requirements :

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable or related roles.
  • Proficiency in business systems relevant to customer and vendor transactions; experience with QuickBooks is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in numeric and financial data.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Organized and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to balance individual and team responsibilities.
