Part Time College Counselor- Job Description

La Salle Academy, an all-male college preparatory high school, seeks an experienced college counselor. Located in the East Village neighborhood of New York City, La Salle Academy is a small school with a 175-year history that enrolls a culturally diverse student population. It is a member of the international network of Lasallian Schools.

Education : Master's Degree or higher.

Experience : 3-5 years of college counseling experience desired. Familiarity / expertise with Naviance, The Common Application, and the CUNY application preferred. FACTS SIS knowledge a bonus.

Responsibilities :

• Educate and guide students and parents through the college application process.
• Critique college essays.
• Process college applications.
• Provide academic and personal counseling to the students.
• Communicate with parents, students, faculty, and administration regularly.
• Organize, advertise and monitor college representative visits and Zoom calls.
• Keep detailed and accurate records.

Start Date : September 2, 2025, with new faculty orientation taking place in late August.

Salary : Commensurate with experience and credentials. Minimum starting salary $25,000.
