Controller / Accounting Manager - Construction industry

We are looking for a dedicated Construction industry accounting professional to manage all accounting operations for two companies in New Haven, Connecticut. In this role, you will serve as the sole internal accounting expert, collaborating with an external accountant who provides monthly oversight. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with experience in construction accounting and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.
Responsibilities :
Oversee all aspects of accounting operations for two companies, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.Process certified payroll and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.Manage billing, invoicing, and related documentation using Sage 100.Prepare and submit payroll taxes accurately and on time.Handle the renewal and payment of company licenses and ensure compliance with licensing requirements.Administer union dues payments and maintain accurate records.Collaborate with an external accountant for monthly financial reviews and guidance.Maintain structured and organized financial records to support business operations.Generate financial reports to support decision-making processes.For immediate consideration , please apply today and / or email your resume to Drew.Schroll@RobertHalf com.

Requirements :
Minimum of 5 years of project accounting experience within the construction industry.Proficiency in construction accounting practices and familiarity with AIA billing.Advanced knowledge of Sage 100 accounting software.Strong understanding of certified payroll processes and compliance.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines consistently.Effective communication skills for working with internal teams and external partners.Familiarity with payroll tax regulations and union dues administration.For immediate consideration , please apply today and / or email your resume to Drew.Schroll@RobertHalf com.
