Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8 : 15AM-5 : 00PM (Required to flex schedule to meet clinical onsite hours)

HOW YOULL MAKE AN IMPACT

The Clinical Educator serves as a consultant, change agent, and facilitator in assessing learning needs and in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational activities for the staff of the assigned clinical areas. Plans and implements teaching strategies for all levels of staff.Oversees the clinical staff training program from new hire orientation to ongoing education. This includes and is not limited to donor referral, donor consent / authorization, organ recovery, and organ allocation. Responsible for creation, implementation, and ongoing support of preceptor / on-the-job training program(s). Routinely assesses and updates education programs and provides guidance regarding policies and regulations to ensure compliance. Ensures structured content for didactic instruction and skills-based learning. Training will include didactic and active donor management cases to assess and enhance the skills of the new orientee.

WHAT YOULL DO

  • Curriculum Development : Analyzes and assesses performance gaps and recommends training interventions to improve staff performance. Utilizes clinical leaders and internal / external subject matter experts (SMEs) in support of curriculum development and training. Conducts need assessment, client interviews, and observation techniques and tools to determine scope and learning objectives. Develops innovative and targeted training solutions that make operational impact.
  • Clinical Training : Provides hands-on training, classroom instruction, and simulation-based learning to build clinical competencies and to successfully move staff from novice to beginner / competent practitioners. In conjunction with OPO leadership, identifies and coordinates ongoing clinical education opportunities. Works with assigned preceptors and actively participates in clinical training and onsite training during active cases. Coordinates with assigned preceptors to maintain training records. Supports corporate performance improvement and evidence-based practice projects and initiatives
  • Preceptor Program : Develops and manages preceptor / on-the-job training program, providing continuing education and monitoring of the orientation process of preceptor and orientee. Evaluates preceptor competency and effectiveness. Ensures consistency of program implementation and quality.
  • Evaluation & Continuous Improvement : Using the Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model, assess training program effectiveness and makes necessary implementations to improve training outcomes. Evaluates the effectiveness of educational programs through feedback, competency assessments, and measurable outcomes. Monitors clinical training program performance across departments and identifies gaps and implements improvements to ensure clinical staff competency.

WHAT YOULL BRING

Minimum Requirements :

  • Associate degree Nursing or healthcare related OR
  • Certification Critical care paramedic, respiratory therapy or surgical technician OR
  • High School Diploma AND FIVE (5) years OPO / Tissue Recovery experience
  • Valid State Drivers License
  • TWO (2) years Assessing, designing, and / or implementing clinical education programs / course content
  • FIVE (5) years OPO experience involving clinical aspects of organ / tissue recovery / donor management of surgical experience in a hospital or clinical setting
  • Preferred Experience / Skills / Certifications :

  • BSN Nursing OR
  • High School Diploma AND SEVEN (7) years OPO / Tissue Recovery experience
  • CST or EMT Certified Scrub Tech or Certified Emergency Medical Technician
  • TS-C or CSFA Tech in Surgery-Certified or Certified Surgical First Assist
  • CTP Certified Transplant Preservationist
  • FOUR (4) years Assessing, designing, and / or implementing clinical education programs / course content
  • SEVEN (7) years OPO experience involving clinical aspects of organ / tissue recovery / donor management of surgical experience in a hospital or clinical setting
  • Key Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities :

  • Organ Donation Process Knowledge : Strong understanding of the organ donation process, brain death, and family dynamics. Understanding of medical and legal principles related to organ donation, donor evaluation, and family support.
  • Psychology : Able to manage stressful situations involving complex clinical scenarios and family dynamics
  • Computer : PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Attention to Detail : Able to perform tasks thoroughly and with care; checks work to ensure high degree of accuracy / completeness and early / on-time delivery
  • Adult Learning Principles : Able to emphasize that adults are self-directed, bring a wealth of experience, need to understand the relevance and purpose of their learning, and are motivated by internal goals and practical application
  • Communication : Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and building relations with all professionals at different levels within and outside the organization. Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills speaking with various types of audiences.
  • Time Management : Able to prioritize multiple, competing priorities and manage time / workload. Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple time sensitive projects, multi-task, identify project interdependencies and potential risks / pitfalls
  • Critical Thinking : Able to make decisions independently regarding medical management of organ donors, staff triage, logistical arrangements
  • Logistical Analysis : Requiring thinking through and solving problems step by step; often as to look beyond the obvious solution to a problem
  • Teamwork : Able to be collaborative and work as part of a team to resolve issues, complete tasks and meet business needs
  • Compliance : Knowledge in medical compliance and data sharing

    COMPENSATION

    Salary Range : $65,972 - $86,962

    Final compensation will be based on factors such as geographic location, qualifications, and prior relevant experience. The pay range for this position is $65,972 annually (entry level qualifications to$87,962 annually (experienced in this role). Actual compensation may be higher based on the successful candidates knowledge and relevant experience.
