Texas NICU RN Job Details

Location : New Braunfels, TX (Texas healthcare jobs)

Setting : NICU & Labor & Delivery (float between units)

Shift : Nights, 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM

Shift Duration : 12 hours

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Full Time)

Weekly Hours : 36 hours

Employment Type : Travel nursing job

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1680-$1800

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of recent NICU or neonatal nursing experience

Active RN License in Texas or compact state (Texas RN jobs)

BLS certification (AHA required)

NRP certification (AHA required)

STABLE certification (Post-resuscitation / Pre-transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants)

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Completion of New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days of hire

Annual competency verification required

NICU RN Responsibilities

Deliver routine and advanced care to NICU and Labor & Delivery patients

Independently manage all aspects of neonatal and maternal patient care

Utilize the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation

Administer medications and treatments, monitor for side effects and effectiveness

Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided

Educate patients, families, and caregivers on health needs and care plans

Support the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families

Delegate tasks to other healthcare providers as appropriate

Participate in competency validation and ongoing professional development
