6 : 45 PM - 7 : 15 AM, 3x12 hour shifts, every other weekend and holiday required.

Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist, under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Services, Technical Supervisor, and Shift Supervisors, provides and administers all aspects of Respiratory Care Therapy and supportive equipment as stated in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual.

Responsibilities

  • Providing respiratory therapy under medical direction, including education, treatment, management, and diagnostic evaluation of patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies.
  • Assisting with intubation and managing ventilator set-up.
  • Gathering necessary information for patient evaluation, including disease education and consultations with healthcare professionals.
  • Developing rapport with patients and caregivers to support goal achievement.
  • Documenting and providing education to patients and caregivers based on identified needs.
  • Adhering to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

    • Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Must have an active New Jersey Respiratory Care license (no temporary licenses).
  • 1+ year of recent experience as a licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • 1+ year of ICU experience required.
  • Previous experience with ventilators is necessary.
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required.
