Position Overview :
The Certified Medical Assistant supports physicians and clinical staff in delivering high-quality patient care. This role performs both administrative and clinical duties to ensure the efficient operation of the medical office or clinic. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, compassionate, and experienced in working directly with patients in a healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities :
Greeted and prepared patients for examinations, taking vital signs, height, weight, and medical history.
Assisted providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
Administered injections, immunizations, and medications as directed by the provider.
Collected and processed laboratory specimens; performed basic lab tests as permitted.
Maintained exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and adequate stock of medical supplies.
Updated and maintained patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Scheduled appointments, managed referrals, and assisted with prior authorizations.
Provided patient education on medications, procedures, and follow-up care instructions.
Ensured compliance with infection control, safety, and HIPAA regulations.
Supported front office operations, including answering phones, verifying insurance, and processing patient check-in / check-out when needed.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent credential.
Current CPR / BLS certification.
1–2 years of clinical experience preferred (new graduates welcome to apply).
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Proficient in using EHR systems and basic computer applications.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience in an Urology specialty setting.
