Job Summary

The IT Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the IT engineering team (2 engineers). In this role, you will play a key part in supporting and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure. Working alongside the engineering team, you will help design, implement, and manage systems, networks, and team practices. You will also collaborate with other Technical Service Managers to support clients and enhance service delivery. This position may require occasional evening or weekend hours to meet business needs. It also includes participation in the engineering on-call rotation for after-hours support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to the IT engineering team (2 engineers), including performance evaluations, mentoring, process improvement, and inter-team collaboration.
  • Participate in on-call rotation cycle.
  • Assist in installation, configuration, and maintenance of various server systems (Windows Server, Linux).
  • Perform ongoing audits of the engineering team workload.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional development.
  • Support network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNS.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of networking protocols and services.
  • Manage our internal datacenter, ensuring high uptime and accessibility.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of hardware and software assets.
  • Collaborate with vendors on hardware and software procurement.
  • Install and update software applications while ensuring security and compliance.
  • Follow security best practices to safeguard systems and data.
  • Assist with implementing and monitoring security measures, including firewalls and antivirus solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Implement and manage data backup and BCDR solutions.
  • Document troubleshooting procedures and resolutions for future reference.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including clients and peers.
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to organizational decision-making.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver\'s license and a clean driving record.
  • Dependable Transportation.
  • Physically able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science or Related Field
  • Relevant Certifications (E.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNP) are a plus.
  • Familiarity with server and networking technologies.
