Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN with a current CA license and at least 2 years of Level III NICU experience for a night shift assignment.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with a Level III designation
  • Night shifts with a 3x12 hour schedule from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30
  • Assignment length is 13 weeks
  • Requires floating to PICU and CTICU based on facility needs
  • Documentation is completed using the EPIC EMR system
  • Flexible weekend coverage, required every other weekend or as needed
  • No on-call requirement
  • First-time travelers are accepted if they have more than 2 years of NICU experience
  • Pre-start online learning modules and 8 hours of EPIC training are required
  • Time off requests must be submitted with application and are at manager's discretion, with no RTO permitted on Black Friday or December 21-23
  • Locals are accepted at a different pay rate
  • Expect to float to related pediatric units as needed according to census
  • Scrub color and dress code unspecified, please be prepared for typical hospital standards

  • Active CA RN license in hand is required
  • Minimum of 2 years of NICU Level III experience required
  • BLS and Advanced NRP certifications are required
  • Demonstrated skills with phototherapy, tube feed / gavage, blood products, PICC, peripheral line management, anti-seizure meds, caffeine administration, vasopressors, neonatal abstinence, phlebotomy, bubble CPAP, HFNC, and vents
  • One professional reference within the past 2 years is required
  • No prior permanent staff employment at this hospital
  • No disciplinary actions (Nursys hits) on record
