- Duties
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose any medical conditions.
- Administer vaccinations and medications as needed.
- Perform surgical procedures, including animal catheterization and other necessary interventions.
- Provide emergency care and treatment for injured or ill animals.
- Utilize laboratory techniques to analyze samples and interpret results for accurate diagnosis.
- Maintain detailed medical records using veterinary terminology to document patient history and treatment plans.
- Educate pet owners on animal husbandry, nutrition, and general pet care practices to promote overall health.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure efficient operations within the clinic or hospital setting.
- Stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities.
- Experience
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution is required.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not mandatory; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity with animal physiology, handling techniques, and care protocols is essential.
- Experience with equine medicine is a plus but not required.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
