Medical Assistant
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting healthcare professionals by performing essential duties such as documenting vital signs, preparing patients and rooms for exams, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment. You will assist physicians with procedures, document medical history, and communicate instructions between the physician and patients. Additionally, you will manage patient data, ensure accurate documentation in electronic medical records, and facilitate patient care activities.
Responsibilities
- Document vital signs accurately.
- Prepare patients and rooms for examinations and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.
- Provide essential patient care assistance and support the doctor's daily activities.
- Assist physicians with procedures, including documenting medical history and case notes.
- Relay instructions from physicians to patients or authorized persons.
- Collect and document patient data in person and by phone.
- Accurately document medical information in patient records.
- Track and route test results to physicians / nurse practitioners for review.
- Communicate test results to patients when deemed appropriate.
- Facilitate patient care activities, including scheduling ancillary tests and reinforcing patient education.
- Perform triage as directed by physician / nurse practitioner.
- Maintain adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies.
- Perform basic computer skills using electronic health records proficiently.
Essential Skills
1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant.Proficiency in using electronic health records.Knowledge of medical assisting, patient care, and phlebotomy.Ability to perform vital sign documentation and basic registration.Strong communication skills for relaying information.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) is a plus.Experience in a fast-paced medical environment is beneficial.Work Environment
The role is based in a busy urgent care setting, handling 50-100 patients daily. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with potential flexibility to work until 6 PM if needed. There are opportunities for overtime and growth within various specialties.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00 / hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Middletown, NY.
