About the Department Services :
The Health Services division of the HCJPD is responsible for the medical psychological and treatment programs within the agency. The services operated within this division include the medical staff that assess and treat youth in the detention center and post-adjudicated addition the division has mental health therapists who provide crisis counseling and individual group and family therapy to youth both in the detention center and under community supervision. Lastly the Health Services division oversees the four specialty courts that operate within the agency to help address some of the underlying factors that may be impacting a youths functioning.
About the Position :
The FFT Therapist provides direct clinical treatment to assigned family using methods compatible with Functional Family Therapy (FFT) principles and practices.

Requirements
Education and Experience :
BS / BA from an accredited college or university in clinical or counseling psychology social work and / or marriage and family is required .
MS / MA from an accredited college or university in clinical or counseling psychology social work and / or marriage and family is required with either :
One (1) year of post masters clinical experience OR
Licensure :
Applicant must be fully licensed in clinical or counseling psychology and / or social work (LPC LCSW LMFT LPA) within three (3) years of date of hire.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities :
Spanish Speaking required.
Must possess a thorough knowledge of the following : family system theory behavioral theory pragmatic family therapist as well as the application for each.
Must demonstrate a direct use of pragmatic (i.e. structural strategic and functional) family therapies as well as a marital therapy using behaviorally-based approaches.
Completes submits and uploads required documents for each assigned family in a timely manner as directed by the FFT supervisor.
Provides appropriate information as directed by FFT supervisor to the department and court staff in a timely manner in reference to treatment progress of assigned family.
Accurate record retention of clinical work with minimal errors.
Must be 21 years of age.
Additional Requirements :
Upon receiving a conditional job offer all applicants must undergo a criminal background check and drug screening.
All applicants must provide evidence of a tuberculosis (TB) skin test. If the attest result is positive additional documentation will be required.
All employees are subject to random drug and alcohol testing as well as testing based on reasonable suspicion that the employee may be under the influence of a substance prohibited by the countys drug and alcohol policy during the course and scope of employment.
In the event of a public emergency declared by the county staff may be assigned to other duties facilities or departments under the supervision of another county department.
Applicants must be at least 21 years old.
Employees in this position must possess and maintain a valid Texas Drivers license and maintain liability insurance coverage at least equal to the minimum amounts required by law.
Certified copies of educational transcripts and / or college credits will be required during the hiring process.
This position involves working with challenging youth where the use of crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies may be necessary to ensure the safety of both youth and staff.

About Harris County Juvenile Probation (HCJPD) :
The Harris County Juvenile Probation Department (HCJPD) provides supervision and services to youth between the ages of 10 and 17 who are under the jurisdiction of the Juvenile Court. HCJPD is the largest juvenile probation department in Texas with approximately 1100 employees and over 3500 youth referred to the department annually. HCJPD programs and services operate under the direction of the Harris County Juvenile Board. The Administration building is located in Downtown Houston Texas with several field offices throughout the County and three secure residential facilities.

Days and hours of work are typically Monday - Friday.
Some evenings late nights and weekends if necessary and / or as scheduled.
Salary :
$ 61755.20 - $ 82659.20 Annually
