Finance Leader For Epi BU And Ace BU

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the financial performance and results of the BU. Driving BU to achieve P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow targets.
  • Lead preparation of annual operating plan, long-term strategic plan, quarterly forecast and quarter-end financial reporting
  • Provide guidance and ensure adherence to financial policies and controls (Quarterly balance sheet review, Approvals, SOX controls, Internal audits)
  • Business partner with executives, providing insightful analysis and decision support across various functions GM, COO, Manufacturing Ops, RD&E & BM / Sales Functions
  • Influence business partners to execute efficient business processes and deliver strong operational results and profitability
  • Lead / guide Analyst with ACE BU partnership. Mfg. operation located in Phoenix, AZ, requires bi-annual travel to site.
  • Drive objectives and ensure accurate reporting of metrics related to segment level initiatives Alpine (ASP Value Capture), Sequoia (Cost reductions / efficiency), GMLT (Gross Margin Leadership Team), etc.
  • Deep engagement with various functional groups to understand supply chain bottlenecks to better forecast revenue and inventory targets
  • Drive execution of Business Unit inventory (DIO) and capex targets. Optimize for cash flow performance
  • Ensure BU Opex (R&D) portfolio review cadence, prioritizing investments to achieve Opex targets based on ROI, strategic and market share metrics. Challenge and understand strategic rationale for R&D projects, JDA's and New Partnerships
  • Understand and rationalize R&D lab Capex and footprint supporting New Product development across multiple locations (Bay area, ASU AZ, SUNY NY, etc.)
  • Promote adoption of dashboards and all other Agile Finance tools
  • Participate and own other cross-BU SPG level initiatives
  • Provides leadership and guidance to analysts in a collaborative culture. Support broader finance employee development initiatives

Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field; MBA preferred
  • 15+ years of professional work experience in financial analysis and manager roles
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated experience supporting complex businesses and changing environment
  • Strategic Vision and Agility - thinks forward to influence productive change and anticipates challenges with recommendations to achieve objectives
  • Influencing - ability to impact decisions cross-functionally and with sound recommendations to drive results
  • Excellent communications skills : oral, written and interpersonal.
  • Present to executives with effective messaging. Ability to translate and simplify complex financial concepts to business partners
  • Capable leader of teams with experience in growing high-performance finance professionals
  • Financial Planning and Analysis systems expertise (SAP BPC, Anaplan, Tableau)
  • Position requires understanding of Applied Materials global Standards of Business Conduct and compliance with these standards at all times. This includes demonstrating the highest level of ethical conduct reflecting Applied Materials' core values.

    U.S. Salary Range :

    $168,000.00 - $231,000.00

    The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
