JOB DESCRIPTION :

BASIC SUMMARY :
Instruct group exercise and / or spinning / indoor cycling fitness classes for all ages and skill levels. Promote and encourage participation in the Club’s Fitness program. Evaluate, educate and motivate members / guests and guarantee member / guest satisfaction and safety in matters concerning the fitness industry. Professionalism, friendly and outgoing personality, enthusiasm, passion for fitness industry, great communication skills and a helpful attitude are the cornerstone characteristics of this position. This is a 1099 position.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Promote healthy lifestyles by teaching spinning / indoor cycling classes to the members / guests in accordance with standards in a safe, effective manner.
- Motivating and encouraging members in a group fitness setting while instructing cardio, strength training, water aerobics, stretch, Yoga, core and / or Pilates Classes.
- Conduct member orientations, to include, but not limited to : exercise leadership in cardiovascular conditioning and stretching guidelines.
- Supervise and assist members and guests using the studio to ensure facility standards are being followed.
- Assist in the maintenance of the equipment.
- Attend all scheduled meetings.
- Maintain accurate payroll paperwork.
- Promote Spa services / treatments and Fitness programs.
- Assist in all areas of Spa / Sports Operations as needed.
- Assist other operations with special projects.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / OTHER REQUIREMENTS :
High School diploma or equivalent required.Current Group Exercise certification from nationally accredited institution : Cooper, AFAA, ACE, ACSM, NASM, etcCurrent nationally accredited Spin or Indoor Cycling certification. (Spinning only)Teaching yoga requires a Yoga certification such as a 200-hour program accredited by the Yoga AllianceInstructing Pilates requires a Pilates Certification : Balanced Body, Peak, Stott, etcCurrent CPR / AED certification required.Provide valid certifications upon hire date.Must maintain all required certifications during employment.Provide consistent professional fitness class in accordance with fitness protocol and accepted certification practices.Design a safe, effective, and innovative exercise program personalized to the fitness level of the members and / or guests.Incorporate new techniques, methods and developments into fitness classes.Listen effectively and to speak English.Work in a fast-paced environment.Achieve positive guest relations and maximize guest satisfaction by providing accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all members’ / guests’ requests and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.Work without constant direct supervision.Work in a team environment.Committed to working rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.Schedule vacations during the off-season months.PHYSICAL DEMANDS – ABILITY TO :
Grasp, lift, push / pull, carry or transport up to 50 lbs.Push / pull wheeled carts weighing up to 100 lbs.Stand for length of scheduled shift.Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach with hands and arms.All Employees and Contractors are required to complete a drug Screening and background check.
