With more than 24,000 acres of parkland, nine Rec Centers, eight golf courses, three lakefront parks, and more, FCPA is an exciting organization to be a part of and there are many opportunities for staff to make a difference at every level.
This position works in the director's office and reports to the chief strategist. Supports the Park Authority Board along with a variety of other projects. Provides logistical, technical, and administrative support for Park Authority Board meetings and events. Reviews Park Authority Board items for accuracy and creates and distributes agendas and packages to attendees and the public. Manages all technology components for in-person and virtual board meetings. Serves as BAC liaison to the County Clerk's Office. Ensures compliance with VA Code during open and closed Park Authority Board meetings. Serves as Central Friends Group coordinator. Manages annual meeting of friends groups and other park advocacy allies. Manages establishment of memorandums of understanding with friends groups and other partner organizations.
Leads agency's Volunteer Management Team (VMT). Coordinates regular meetings of VMT, manages agency's volunteer email inbox, manages regular review of volunteer management manual, coordinates with county volunteer staff. Manages agency's administration of county's Outstanding Performance Award program. Leads policy manual review process and coordinates updating of agency's policies as needed. Assists in coordination of CAPRA accreditation process. Supports and facilitates contributions to the county's legislative program. This position will maintain flexibility to take on additional projects and duties as priorities emerge, such as strategic planning support, public engagement, logistics for trainings, meetings, and events, benchmarking research, preparing presentations and more. Must have a strong attention to detail, be a fast learner, be comfortable with managing technology, and be able to function at a high level in a fast-paced environment. This position will require attendance at evening meetings and occasional weekend events.
Note : The assigned functional areas of this position are general executive assistance, compliance, logistics, project management, and policy creation.

Employment Standards
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following :

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in the field related to the assigned functional area; plus, two years of professional work experience within the functional area.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

The appointee to the position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
