About PDM

With nearly five decades of manufacturing excellence rooted in European craftsmanship, PDM continues to grow through innovation, quality, and a deep commitment to our people. Our copper mill runs 24 / 7 year-round, while production operates around-the-clock Monday through Friday - a fast-moving environment where teamwork, accountability, and technical skill drive our success.

Our culture is shaped by our core values : Passion for Excellence, Quality, Innovation, Safety & Sustainability, Integrity & Accountability, and ONE PDM. These values guide how we work, how we solve problems, and how we support each other every day.

About the Role

The Maintenance Technician (SME) is a key technical resource within our operation. This role blends hands-on maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and day-to-day leadership on the production floor. The SME is the person others rely on when equipment needs attention, when a system isn't performing correctly, or when we need a deeper understanding of how machinery should operate.

In this position, you will be responsible for the performance and reliability of a wide range of equipment, including electrical systems, mechanical components, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and various automated processes. You will help ensure that machines run safely, efficiently, and consistently - protecting both product quality and the pace of production.

The SME role is not only about technical strength; it's also about communication, coaching, and partnership. You will work closely with operators, supervisors, and fellow technicians to elevate the performance of the entire team. Your insight will help drive improvements, prevent breakdowns, and support a culture of continuous learning.

What You'll Be Doing

Each day offers a mix of challenges and problem-solving. You'll diagnose complex equipment issues, perform preventive maintenance, support equipment startups and changeovers, and lead or assist in major repairs. You will also help shape better processes by identifying root causes, offering solutions, and working with others to improve reliability and reduce downtime.

You'll document your work, communicate needs clearly, and help ensure that parts and materials are available when needed. You'll also play an important role in training - helping operators and teammates understand how equipment works and how to care for it properly.

Safety is at the heart of this role. You will model safe behavior, follow established procedures, and contribute to a production environment where employees, equipment, and product quality are always protected.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical and electrical capabilities, sharp troubleshooting instincts, and the confidence to make decisions in a fast-paced environment. Experience in industrial maintenance is preferred, along with the ability to read schematics, interpret technical documents, and work effectively with automated systems.

Success in this role also requires teamwork, communication, reliability, and professionalism. This position is well-suited for someone who takes pride in their craft, enjoys solving problems, and values being part of a team that depends on their expertise.

Qualifications

Candidates should have industrial maintenance experience or equivalent technical training. A technical degree is preferred but not required. The role requires physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and to work in a non-climate-controlled environment. Exposure to magnetic or electrical fields is routine. OSHA 30 training is required within the first three months.

Why Join PDM?

This is an opportunity to join a growing organization where craftsmanship still matters, where innovation is celebrated, and where every team member plays a vital role in the company's success. At PDM, you will work with committed professionals, modern equipment, and a leadership team that values safety, respect, and long-term development.

If you are driven, skilled, and looking for a place to build your expertise, we invite you to consider joining the PDM team.
