About Gulf Coast IOM :

Gulf Coast IOM is a Houston-based intraoperative neuromonitoring company dedicated to enhancing surgical outcomes through precision, professionalism, and patient safety. Our CNIMs and Neurologists work alongside leading surgeons across Houston to deliver exceptional neurophysiological monitoring in supportive, team-driven environment.

Position Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Certified Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Technologist (CNIM) or a CNIM-Eligible candidate to join our Houston team. The ideal candidate is professional, reliable, and detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to patient safety and surgical excellence.

Responsibilities :

  • Perform multimodality IONM, including SSEP, TcMEP, ABR, sEMG, tEMG and EEG during spine, cranial, ENT and orthopedic surgeries.
  • Set up, calibrate, and maintain monitoring equipment to ensure accurate data acquisition.
  • Communicate intraoperative findings to the supervising neurologist and the surgical team in real time.
  • Document all monitoring activity in compliance with Gulf Coast IOM, facility, and Joint Commission standards.
  • Maintain HIPAA, OSHA, and infection-control compliance at all times.
  • Participate in continuing education to maintain board registries and board certifications.

Required :

  • ABRET CNIM certification (or CNIM-Eligible and achieve the certification within 12 months of hiring date)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong knowledge of neuroanatomy and surgical procedures
  • Current CPR / BLS certification
  • Preferred :

  • Bachelor's degree in biology or related field
  • Experience using USMON or similar IONM platforms
  • Prior hospital or surgical center credentialing experience
