The Role : Security Officer

As a Security Officer at Switch, you will be part of a world-class team that operates in excellence, delivering mission-critical solutions that redefine what's possible in AI, cloud and enterprise data center needs. Your work will directly impact the future of technology and the sustainable growth of the Internet.

In this role you will be expected to preserve order, protect property and personnel, and enforce regulations through officer presence, video surveillance, the use of positive access control while maintaining an updated log of all events.

What You'll Do :

• Surveillance of multiple facilities.
• Vehicle / Foot Patrol of multiple facilities.
• Control Access to multiple facilities.
• Maintain updated incident log of all events.
• Shipping / Receiving (May include internal mail retrieval, sorting and distribution).
• Clearly / Effectively communicate with staff and customers.
• Provide officer presence to customers / employees.
• Provide escort for tours / vendors.
• Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring. surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
• Obtain help by sounding alarms.
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
• Control traffic by directing drivers.
• Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.
• Maintain environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.
• Maintain organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
• Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Assume the responsibilities of internal mail retrieval, sorting and distribution, as required.
