Meal Program Driver
The Meal Program Driver drives the company meal program vehicle, picks up food from the caterer and delivers to all seven meal sites throughout the week. Additionally, they deliver meals to rural individuals in Saukville, Fredonia, and Belgium and picks up empty food equipment from meal sites and drop off at location for the caterer to pick up. Additionally, the Meal Program Driver monitors vehicle maintenance and schedules any necessary service with the highway department and notifies the Aging Services Supervisor of scheduled appointments.
The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully with or without reasonable accommodations to be qualified for the position. Other duties may be required and assigned.
50% Safe Driving : Drives safely in all weather conditions to the program caterer located in Milwaukee County.
20% Food Pick Up / Delivery to Meal Sites : Loads food and delivers to seven meal sites during the week throughout Ozaukee County. This task includes lifting, reaching, and moving of food equipment, and using a food dolly to bring into sites. Organizes food coffins in the vehicle to prevent spillage and make sure correct food coffins are delivered to respective sites and picks up and returns food equipment to the site for the caterer.
15% Delivery of Food to Rural Customers : Follows route sheet instructions for food delivery. This includes getting in and out of the vehicle frequently during the route and handling hot and cold food and delivering to customers.
5% Wellness Check of Customers : Checks in with each customer and reports concerns to the supervisor, including reporting individuals not home for delivery.
5% Monitor Vehicle Maintenance / Gas Fill-up : Keeps track of needed oil changes, tire rotations, tire conditions, cleanliness of the vehicle. Regularly fills up the vehicle with gas weekly.

Education and / or Experience Requirements : High School Diploma required. Requires a valid Wisconsin Drivers License. Clean Drivers Record.
In order to perform the functions and responsibilities of the position (listed above) the following knowledge, skills, and abilities are essential. Ability to work well with others. Ability to monitor vehicle maintenance. Excellent customer skills.
Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, reach, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and push / pull up to 80 pounds. Driving and delivering year-round in all weather conditions.
