Overview

STATEWIDE GUARDIAN AD LITEM OFFICE, Florida. Hybrid, full-time attorney position with potential remote work after onboarding. Salary : $56,650.08 plus benefits; posting closing date 12 / 01 / 2025. This is a position in the Justice Administrative Commissionfamily and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Represent children in dependency court as part of a multi-disciplinary team including a child welfare professional and (hopefully) a community volunteer or pro bono attorney.
• Provide thorough and accurate information to dependency judges regarding the children under the court's jurisdiction.
• Review case files to identify legal issues, conduct independent investigations of facts, develop legal strategies, file pleadings and motions, and attend court proceedings including hearings, depositions, and mediations.
• Work with Guardian ad Litem staff, witnesses, collateral contacts, and the children represented by the Office.
• Advocate and negotiate for the assigned children inside and outside the courtroom and perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Work under supervision of the Managing Attorney and the Circuit Director.
