Position Summary
Every effort has been made to identify the essential functions of the Maintenance Mechanic II position. The Maintenance Mechanic performs general maintenance duties throughout building and grounds. Work involves light carpentry, electrical, pipe fitting, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, and snow removal. Maintains building security. Supports Culture of Excellence through active role with assigned neighborhood initiatives.
Essential Job Functions :
- Carries out maintenance duties (repairs, painting, and carpentry, and heavy cleaning) as assigned.
- Performs preventive maintenance duties according to schedule on all Home vehicles and equipment.
- Keeps daily record of duties performed to be submitted to supervisor.
- Clears snow from walks and parking areas. Is on call during winter months.
- Maintains building security.
- Reports to fire zone when alarm sounds.
- Serves as switchboard backup when necessary.
- Participates in in-service education and safety programs.
- Performs other duties as required by the supervisor or by Administration from time to time.
Other Job Functions :
Dependable, report to work on-time for every schedule shift (ready to work at beginning - start of shift) and work full schedule shifts unless physically unable or pre-approved Paid Time Off (PTO) which includes personal and vacation.Willing and able to work overtime and weekends as required by the position and / or approved by management.Have reliable transportation to and from work.Must be clean and neat in appearance and have a "friendly" service-oriented, team, cooperative demeanor and supports Culture of Excellence initiatives by interactions with co-workers and / or Members.Abide by work-related / job procedures and organization policies; (refer to the Employee Handbook).Qualifications of the Position :
Education : High school diploma or GED.Experience : Two to three years of HVAC, boilers, and general maintenance work PreferredLicenses / Certifications : Must have a valid NYS driver's license.Conditions of Employment :
Work is performed in a clean, well lit, "Home-Like," nursing Home setting.Employee must be able to perform essential job functions (reasonable accommodation may apply).Physical Requirements :
