Maverick Transport Inc., a third-party logistics (3PL) provider, is seeking a sharp, high-energy Operations Specialist / Logistics Coordinator to help us source capacity, problem-solve in real time, and keep freight moving.

You'll work closely with carriers and internal teams to source trucks, vet carriers for quality and safety, and ensure shipments get executed on time. This is a fast-paced, high-pressure role where urgency, organization, and communication are everything.

What You'll Do :

Source daily truckload capacity by calling carriers, tapping into existing contacts and using load boards when necessary

Pre-vet carriers for safety, insurance, and compliance standards before booking

Negotiate rates and confirm shipment requirements with carrier partners

Communicate proactively to solve issues and prevent service failures

Track and update load statuses in our transportation management system (TMS)

Maintain strong, ongoing relationships with reliable carriers to ensure future coverage

Support internal teams to ensure excellent service for customers

Stay organized while managing multiple time-sensitive shipments

What We're Looking For :

Strong multitasking and decision-making skills under pressure

Excellent phone and email communication

Confidence negotiating rates and working with carrier partners

1+ year of logistics, transportation, or brokerage experience preferred

Knowledge of load boards like DAT or Truckstop is a plus

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other office tools

High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree a plus
