FEDERAL PROPOSAL INTERN - SUMMER 2026
We are excited to announce the opening of our 2026 Summer Internship program. The program will run from May 18, 2026, through August 7, 2026.
JOB SUMMARY
This position provides support to the Federal Team in managing federal programs to help secure environmental work for August Mack. The role involves assisting with tasks related to contracts, bids, submittals, and project administration. Work is completed under the guidance and supervision of the Vice President - Federal Programs.
RESEARCH AND REGULATIONS
- Conduct research and analysis of current and future environmental procurement opportunities with Federal agencies
- Contribute to researching federal acquisition regulations, contract language and specifications, and government procurement databases to support opportunity pursuits
- Assist in evaluating scientific and technical specifications, contractual language, and environmental reports to support development of sound technical approaches
- Learn Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), small business regulations, environmental regulations and industry standards
- Support in assessing and reviewing contractual language, technical requirements and performance obligations to provide input on go / no go reviews
PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT
Aid in preparing technical submittals, plans, and specificationsAssist with the review of scientific and technical information to develop a response strategy to capture opportunitySupport review and analysis of customer and vendor provided information to supplement proposal preparation and reporting tasksContribute to the development and execution of proposal strategy to secure workHelp prepare post award submittals to meet contractual requirements and effectively transition work from the office into the fieldPROJECT IMPLEMENTATION
Assist with transition of projects from contract award to mobilization and executionCollaborate in working with technical and construction teams to develop written plans, reports and submittals to advance contractual obligationsWork with company resources (and external resources / contractors) to make informed decisions while incorporating client’s business needs, project expectations, regulatory framework, and technical feasibilityExecute specific work activities to maintain project momentumSupport the team in maintaining administrative files including but not limited to contract language and addendums, subcontractor contracts, team agreements, purchase orders, vendor files, potential vendor files, etc.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Education : Working towards a B.S. or B.A. in marketing, business administration, geology, engineering, chemistry, environmental science, or a science-based field
Skills : Ability to comprehend large technical work descriptions; understanding of construction / health and safety requirements is a plus. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain schedules, meet deadlines, and exhibit strong verbal / written communication skills.
