Workforce Development Coordinator
The Metropolitan Council, the regional government for the seven-county Twin Cities metropolitan area, is seeking a Workforce Development Coordinator. The position provides administrative and programmatic support of multiple workforce development programs, including planning, outreach and recruitment, data collection, program execution, and reporting. This position is eligible for a hybrid (both remote and onsite) telework arrangement. Candidate's permanent residence must be in Minnesota or Wisconsin. All Workforce Development team staff are required to work approximately 50 weekday nights per year both in person and virtually.
What You Would Do In This Job
The Workforce Development Coordinator will :
- Ensure the project timeline and milestones are met and adjusted, as necessary, to deliver program outcomes.
- Propose training schedules, assist in developing program curriculum, and identify needed resources.
- Develop and implement evaluation, data collection, and performance measurement tools.
- Perform ongoing outreach to targeted internal and external communities.
- Seek to fully understand client's workforce needs, critiquing and evaluating existing strengths and deficits to develop programming that addresses needs.
- Assist in developing potential solutions and approaches to fully understand the long-term goals and objectives of the program.
- Ensure external and internal program partners are fully engaged and fulfilling obligations.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for external program partners.
- Receive program improvement suggestions from program partners and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include any of the following combinations of education and experience :
High school diploma / GED with six or more years of experience.Associate degree with four or more years of experience.Bachelor's or higher degree with two or more years of experience.License Requirement : Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Desired qualifications include :
Experience working with Twin Cities area workforce development organizations.Experience working with multiple transit-related professions.Professional work experience at the Metropolitan Council.Experience managing recruitments in the NeoGov applicant tracking system.Experience using PeopleSoft to enter or review employee information.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Within the first six months on the job, you should have :
Knowledge of job or career requirement standards and progression.Knowledge of external workforce development trends, practices, and approaches.Knowledge of public transportation / transit industry.Skilled in Microsoft Office suite.Skilled in developing and working with data tracking and reports.Ability to communicate ideas, concepts, action steps, and objectives.Ability to understand and utilize multiple career / industry terms, vernacular, and mindset.Ability to adapt a client-based approach to all programming and consultation.Ability to quickly adjust and respond to program changes.What You Can Expect From Us
