AP Clerk
We are seeking a skilled AP Clerk for our client based in Lynchburg, VA. We are looking for a team-oriented professional who is a motivated self-starter with the ability to work in a deadline driven environment.
Summary Responsible for compiling all documentation of invoices and payments of goods and services necessary for the basic operation. Assumes responsibility for other duties as assigned.
1. Receives and verifies expense reports; reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
2. Facilitates payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.
3. Ensures outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed.
4. Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
5. Records entry of, verifies documentation for, and distributes petty cash.
6. Calculates and reports sales tax based on paid invoices.
7. Other related duties as assigned.
Education and / or Experience : High School graduate or equivalent with additional training in accounting and payroll processing.
