Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to play a crucial role in our tax department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public accounting, possess a CPA license, and demonstrate expertise in tax planning, compliance, and advisory services. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing complex tax engagements, mentoring junior staff, and providing strategic tax guidance to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tax Planning and Strategy :

Develop and implement comprehensive tax planning strategies for a diverse portfolio of clients, including individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.

  • Identify tax-saving opportunities and recommend innovative solutions to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Stay current with changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on clients' tax positions.
  • Tax Compliance :
  • Oversee the preparation and review of complex federal, state, and local tax returns for various types of entities.

  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely filing of all tax returns and related documents.
  • Manage the tax compliance process, including coordinating with clients, staff, and external parties to gather necessary information and documentation.
  • Client Relationship Management :
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients, building and maintaining strong professional relationships.

  • Provide expert tax advice and guidance to clients, addressing their inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Conduct client meetings to discuss tax strategies, explain complex tax issues, and present findings and recommendations.
  • Team Leadership and Development :
  • Supervise, mentor, and train junior staff members, fostering their professional growth and technical skills.

  • Assign tasks, review work products, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Collaborate with partners and other managers to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality deliverables.
  • Quality Control and Risk Management :
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure compliance with firm policies and professional standards.

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with tax engagements.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory changes, updating internal processes as needed.
  • Business Development :
  • Contribute to the firm's growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.

  • Participate in networking events, industry conferences, and client seminars to enhance the firm's visibility and reputation.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations for potential clients.
  • Technical Expertise :
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and court decisions.

  • Conduct research on complex tax issues and prepare technical memoranda.
