DENTAL HYGIENIST JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Promote dental health by performing dental prophylaxis, oral cancer screenings, and radiographic studies, while adhering to the Dental Practice Act.

Prepare patients for dental treatment, ensuring a welcoming environment.

Respond to inquiries and provide information to patients and staff effectively.

Maintain instruments for dental hygiene treatments through sharpening, sterilizing, and selecting appropriate tools.

Evaluate patients' oral health to select necessary materials and equipment for dental hygiene visits.

Perform dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and beneath gum margins.

Detect oral diseases through screening and examination techniques, including probing and radiographic studies.

Prevent dental decay by applying fluoride treatments and cavity-preventing agents.

DENTAL HYGIENIST JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must possess an active dental hygiene license in PA.

Strong understanding of dental procedures and terminology.

Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.

Excellent communication skills for educating patients about oral health.
