System Engineer

Job Title : System Engineer Location : Alexandria, VA or Gaithersburg, MD (Onsite) Clearance : Top Secret with the ability to obtain a CI Poly Type : Direct Hire Salary : $150,000 - $190,000 depending on experience We are looking for an experienced System Engineer to work on cloud-based systems with a mission operations team. The team is involved in operating and sustaining multiple operational cloud-deployed geospatial solutions. A successful candidate will have experience with installation, configuration, administration, support, and maintenance of cloud-based systems and administration of Citrix-based desktops in cloud-based environments. Responsibilities : The Systems Engineer will take a leadership role in system changes and improvements; working directly with government and contractor POCs to troubleshoot and respond to complex user INCs (Incident Reports); proactively recommending configuration changes to help improve system performance; Deploy security patches and bug fixes to test and operational environments; update critical databases with new data; author and update operational and security documentation, including troubleshooting guides and SOPs. Required Qualifications : CLEARANCE : Top Secret with ability to obtain a CI Poly. Requires a BS in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or closely related discipline and 4+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2+ years of prior relevant experience; OR 6 years of experience in lieu of degree DOD 8570 Certification (Security+ or equivalent or higher) Experience with Microsoft Windows Server Windows administration experience Experience completing security remediation tasks based on security scans Citrix administration experience Knowledge of Systems, Architectural, SW Development and SW Sustainment Practices Proficient in software development projects or software integration projects in a service-oriented environment (Cloud, SOA, Web-Services) or virtualization environment. Experience with AWS architectures and technologies Familiar with Amazon Web Services (S3 Buckets, EC2, Reserved Instances, etc.) Familiar with Git / GitLab or other source code control tools Familiar with System Engineering documentation creation (VDDs, diagrams, etc.) Familiar with team collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence) Additional tasks as assigned Preferred Qualifications : SAFe Agile Certification Experience providing systems engineering support for geospatial products Citrix certification(s) AWS certification (e.g. Solutions Architect, Developer, DevOps Engineer) System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé, ALTA IT Services, and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
