We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Scenario Underwriter to join our dynamic Accounting and Finance team. This is a remarkable opportunity to become an integral part of our expanding team, where you will be responsible for the evaluation and assessment of complex loan applications according to established guidelines. You will play a pivotal role in helping us maintain our financial stability and integrity by ensuring that we adhere to risk tolerance standards and comply with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities :

As a Permanent Scenario Underwriter, you will :

1. Evaluate and assess complex loan applications, ensuring they adhere to established guidelines and are in line with our risk tolerance.

2. Analyze financial data to determine the risk of granting loans to potential borrowers.

3. Review and make decisions on complex exceptions based on a comprehensive understanding of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and VA guidelines.

4. Collaborate with loan officers and other stakeholders to ensure that all loan applications are processed accurately and within set timelines.

5. Continually monitor and update underwriting guidelines and procedures in line with changes in federal and state laws.

6. Conduct regular assessments to identify potential risks and develop preventive measures to mitigate them.

7. Provide clear and concise communication to all stakeholders concerning underwriting decisions and the rationale behind them.

8. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest industry trends and advancements, ensuring that our underwriting processes and guidelines remain competitive and compliant.

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate for the Permanent Scenario Underwriter position should have :

1. A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in underwriting, with a strong emphasis on complex loans.

3. A comprehensive understanding of underwriting guidelines, risk assessments, and complex exceptions.

4. Proficiency in Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and VA guidelines.

5. Exceptional analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to interpret and analyze complex financial data.

6. Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate underwriting decisions and their rationale.

7. A proven track record of effectively managing risks and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

8. The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

9. A commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
