Housekeeper Archbold Biological Station

Location : Venus, Florida

Reports To : Operations

Position Type : Full-Time / Part-Time (as needed)

Position Summary :

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of Archbold Biological Stations residential and communal facilities, including cottages, dormitories, offices, lounges, and meeting rooms. This role supports a welcoming and hygienic environment for researchers, interns, staff, and guests, and works closely with the Custodian to ensure high standards across the Station.

Key Responsibilities :

• Clean and prepare guest cottages and dorm rooms : change linens, dust, vacuum, and sanitize bathrooms and kitchens.
• Maintain cleanliness of shared spaces such as lounges, meeting rooms, and laundry facilities.
• Clean offices, including dusting, vacuuming, emptying trash, and sanitizing surfaces.
• Restock supplies such as soap, paper products, and linens.
• Report maintenance issues or damage to the Facilities and / or Maintenance Manager.
• Assist with seasonal deep cleaning and turnover between groups or events.
• Support sustainability practices, including eco-friendly cleaning products and recycling.
• Collaborate with the Custodian to ensure seamless upkeep of all facilities.
• Other tasks assigned by Operations and / or Maintenance Manager
