Responsibilities Work in a 22-bed Neuro Med / Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting Patient population includes neuro and neuro-surgical patients, such as CVAs, elective back / neck surgeries, and cerebral angiogram patients, as well as general medical overflow Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and holiday required Floating to the medical unit may be required Recent Epic charting experience required Duties include performing NIHSS assessments, dysphagia screening, basic telemetry interpretation, strict intake & output tracking, straight cath and Foley care, heparin drip management, administration of blood products, venipuncture, NG tube management, and indwelling drain care Be prepared to care for both neuro and medical overflow patients Charge nurse maintains a patient assignment Resilience, adaptability, and strong teamwork are valued Navy blue scrubs are required Covid-19 vaccination is not currently required but is subject to change Candidates must live more than 40 miles from the facility Requirements Active IL RN license required AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required At least two years of strong Med / Surg Telemetry experience required Minimum of one previous travel assignment required Demonstrated neuro nursing experience required Strong assessment, critical thinking, and neuro evaluation skills required Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-638950.
