Job description

Tiger Analytics is an advanced analytics consulting firm. We are the trusted analytics partner for several Fortune 1000 companies, enabling them to generate business value from data. Our consultants bring deep expertise in Data Science, Machine Learning and AI. Our business value and leadership has been recognized by various market research firms, including Forrester and Gartner.

The Business Analyst will support due diligence, portfolio monitoring, and investment analysis by ensuring the integrity and accuracy of land, mineral, and royalty data. This role bridges technical data management and business decision-making — combining analytical skills with cross-functional collaboration across geoscience, legal, finance, and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, validate, and integrate land, lease, title, deed, mineral, and royalty ownership data into internal databases, GIS, and land systems.
  • Map royalty and mineral records to wells, acreage, and production assets to ensure accurate allocation of interests and burdens.
  • Analyze deeds, conveyances, and chain-of-title documentation, identifying and resolving discrepancies through curative processes.
  • Reconcile royalty revenue statements with ownership and production data, highlighting inconsistencies and providing corrective actions.
  • Support acquisitions and divestitures (A&D) through technical diligence and detailed ownership analysis.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams — including legal, geoscience, finance, and engineering — to maintain accurate and consistent data across systems.
  • Develop analytical dashboards and reports on royalty cash flows, production trends, and ownership summaries for management review.
  • Define and implement standards for data quality, validation, and automation within land and royalty workflows.
  • Monitor portfolio assets to identify optimization opportunities and enhance reporting accuracy.

Requirements

  • 2–5+ years in land management, royalty administration, mineral title analysis, or division order functions.
  • Strong understanding of mineral and royalty interests, title verification, and curative processes.
  • Experience with land / lease systems (Quorum, P2 Land, EnergyIQ, Enverus, or IHS).
  • Proficiency in Excel, GIS tools, and relational databases; working knowledge of SQL or Python preferred.
  • Excellent data validation, reconciliation, and reporting capabilities with high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management abilities; proven collaboration in cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Land Management, Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Natural Resources, Finance, or a related discipline, MBA or advanced degree preferred but not required
  • Benefits

This position offers an excellent opportunity for significant career development in a fast-growing and challenging entrepreneurial environment with a high degree of individual responsibility.
