Director of Technology Services (Information Technology Services Manager 3-SR35 ) This position operates as the Chief Information Officer for Oregon State Hospital (OSH) and provides leadership and technical oversight over all related technology systems and services used for hospital business in a 24/7/365 environment. These systems include but are not limited to: Avatar and its constellation of SAS applications, MS Access and SQL databases, M365 applications, clinical and dental systems, building and security systems, and others.
The Technology Services Director ensures alignment of technology and related processes with top level strategy, goals and objectives of OSH and works with other divisions and agencies (OIS, OHA, and DAS) to secure resources and support to meet these needs. This position makes sure that technology solutions support OSH Values: Humanity, Equity, Wellness, Partnership, Transparency, and Performance Excellence. As the Technology Services director, the incumbent is responsible for providing leadership direction, continuity and coordination of information and technology systems and their improvements as well as information technology standards and compliance, risk management, and analysis in a 24/7/365 environment.
- Serve as a key advisor to the Chief Financial and Operations Officer and OSH Superintendent's Senior Leadership Team on technology and information systems and design.
- Lead and manage a team of managers and individual contributors; provide guidance and mentoring.
- Lead the Data and Analysis team to ensure ready access to comprehensive data, reports, studies and analyses.
- Direct and manage the interactions of OSH staff with IT vendors and IT Partners including administering contracts, vendor compliance to Service Level Agreements, and change requests.
- Develop and recommend technology services through a strategic assessment of proposed technologies, ensuring alignment with OSH objectives and patient-centered care priorities, including: Impact of proposed technologies on the safety, and continuity of services for OSH patients; and Operational feasibility of suitable technologies to support sustainable implementation across the OSH service model.
Normal work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Extended hours may be required in the evenings or on weekends. Works in an open landscape environment. Extensive use of the computer telephone, and fax machines. Is subject to fluctuating workloads and priorities. Occasional contact with patients with mental illness, other agency representatives, and members of the public. Incidental local and in-state travel is required.

Seven years of supervision, management, or progressively related experience; OR four years of related experience and a bachelor's degree in a related field.
