OVERVIEW

The Shasta-Tehama-Trinity Joint Community College District (Shasta College) sits at the northern end of the Sacramento Valley, surrounded by mountains to the north, east, and west. The area provides a wide array of outdoor amenities and activities with miles of hiking and biking trails, national parks, two lakes, and the Sacramento River. The main campus is located in the city of Redding, population 90,000. DESCRIPTION OF BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under administrative leadership, it is the responsibility of the full-time college instructor to teach classes and to participate in processes that will result in continuous improvement of instruction and programs, student success and completion, and advancement of the vision, mission, and values of Shasta College.

CLASSIFICATION : Placement on the current Faculty Salary Schedule is commensurate with previous education and experience.

• Full-time instructional faculty are contracted to work 175 days per year including 164 days of classroom instruction and 11 days of professional growth and development. Instructors enjoy up to 18 weeks off per year during the summer and winter intercessions. The Fall and Spring semesters each contain 17 weeks of instruction with approximately 82 instructional days. The Fall semester begins in late August and ends in mid-December. The Spring semester begins in mid-January and ends in mid-May. • Salary Range : $63,500.44 - $134,784.25 / year on the 2024-2025 Full-Time Faculty Salary Schedule
• $2,000 / year doctorate differential
• State Teachers Retirement System (STRS)

START DATE : This position is anticipated to start the beginning of the Spring 2026 semester. May be expected to teach online.

Education Required :

Bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience, or any associate degree and six years of professional experience. Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master’s degree. The professional experience required must be directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment.
