Rehab Therapy Aide
SSM Health Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint venture between Select Medical and SSM Health, is seeking a Rehab Therapy Aide in Bridgeton, MO. The position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 7 : 30am-4 : 30pm. Compensation is $18-$22.83 per hour based on years of experience.

Responsibilities :
Under the direction of a therapist, assist patients in the rehabilitation process through provision of requested activities.Prepare and maintain equipment and physical plant for daily activities.Assist therapist with transferring patients to / from mats, treatment and tilt tables, wheelchairs, and other equipment appropriate to the facility / department.Transport patients to / from therapy as needed.Assist with patient related activities including equipment set-up and patient positioning in preparation for therapy session as outlined in the Physical Therapy Practice Act.Participate in therapeutic dysphagia and feeding program as requested and supervised by the therapists.Prepare and maintain the department and department equipment in a clean and orderly condition, including disinfecting all equipment and surfaces according to infection control policies and procedures.Ensure maintenance of cleaning logs and refrigerator temperature logs.Provide coverage for wheelchair technicians including : assist with cleaning / disinfecting of wheelchairs and cushions after each patient use, issue wheelchairs to new admissions, assist with preventative maintenance and repairs on wheelchair fleet to extend life of equipment and ensure patient safety, distribute wheelchairs to new admissions, as requested by therapy department.Communicate with Clinical Manager and / or Director of Rehab on a timely basis regarding departmental needs, inform department manager of needed supplies, and assist with inventory control and ordering.Establish and maintain current knowledge of all performance improvement and patient care improvement issues and maintain an active role in monitoring these issues.Participate in departmental meetings and demonstrate understanding of patient satisfaction and safety outcome data.Arrange for responsibilities to be covered in planned absences.Assist the DOR with identification of support staff needs for patient care in the rehab treatment areas and coordination of such between rehab and nursing floors.Participate in therapeutic dysphagia and feeding program as requested and supervised by the therapists.Participate in facility specific core program meetings and demonstrate understanding of patient satisfaction outcome data.Assist with basic clerical duties as requested.Perform other duties as requested.Qualifications :
High school graduate or equivalent required.One or more years of hospital experience as rehab aide preferred.Six months of general maintenance experience and use of hand / power tools preferred.Must have basic computer skills.Job ID 345427
