Overview

Engineering Manager, AI Meeting Notes at Notion. You will lead a team of AI, Desktop, and Product Engineers to improve the AI capabilities of the Meeting Notes product and achieve ambitious business goals. Collaborate with product, design, data science, and other teams to ensure high quality and effective integration into the core product. Devise strategies that leverage the most advanced capabilities from LLMs and other ML technologies for our customers.

What You'll Achieve

  • Own and drive Notion's Meeting Notes product, a critical revenue driver for Notion's enterprise and business customers, delivering value that drives adoption and customer retention.
  • Build and manage a diverse, inclusive team of Product, AI, and Desktop engineers, fostering a healthy environment aligned with Notion's values.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop engineers to move fast and deliver high-quality solutions, providing regular feedback and progress toward personal and professional goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional peers to set direction, responding to customer feedback to tune the offering.
  • Facilitate planning, prioritization, sequencing, and staffing of work for the team.
  • Maintain a high-quality bar for everything the team builds and ensure work delivers value to Notion users.
  • Help shape Notion's engineering practices, recruiting and onboarding strategy, and planning processes in collaboration with the broader Engineering team.

Skills & Requirements

  • You have 2+ years of experience managing AI product engineering teams or equivalent, with deep understanding of solving problems at the intersection of product and AI.
  • You possess a deep AI background to ask the right questions and coach engineers through ambiguous problems in the AI space.
  • You create collaborative, empowering, supportive, and challenging team environments.
  • You value empathetic and direct communication to give and receive feedback and align cross-functionally.
  • You have a high tolerance for ambiguity and change and are motivated by the ever-changing AI landscape.

  • Experience managing engineering teams at startups during rapid growth and organizational change.
  • Experience with transcription or AI meeting notes products and understanding capturing, processing, and synthesizing audio.
  • Familiarity with computing pioneers (e.g., Ada Lovelace, Douglas Engelbart, Alan Kay) and appreciation for their contributions.

    Notion offers highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. For roles based in San Francisco and New York, the estimated base salary range is $247,000 - $290,000 per year. Salary ranges may vary based on location and experience.
