Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C)

MultiCare Mary Bridge Children's Hospital is the state-designated Level II Pediatric Trauma Center and the only pediatric hospital in Washington's South Sound Region dedicated to a comprehensive network of health services for children and adolescents. FTE : 0.3, Shift : Variable, Schedule : 12hr shifts, Saturday / Sunday every other weekend

Position Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) is an integral part of the Physician / Advanced Practice Provider (APP) office team working under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner. Work situations require performance of safe clinical skills within the scope of practice of the MA-C. The MA-C has continuous contact with physicians, APPs, nurses, front office staff, patients and their families / caregivers.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include :
  • Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staff
  • Interviewing patients
  • Obtaining vital signs
  • Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments
  • Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture
  • Administration of medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency
  • Relaying instructions / information to patients and their families / caregivers
  • Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include :
  • Sending and receiving of patient medical records
  • Facilitating patient referrals
  • Preparing forms for patients

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited program for Medical Assistants
  • Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred

  • Pay and Benefit Expectations

    We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $24.58 - $35.36 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to : skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and / or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
