Job Summary :
The laboratory courier is responsible for transporting specimens from physician offices, collection centers, and nursing homes to Labtech Diagnostics. The laboratory courier is an OSHA Category I employee and must adhere to the safety guidelines for this position. The laboratory courier is responsible for continuing education in Bloodborne Pathogens, HIPAA, and Leaks and Spills.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Follow laboratory policies and procedures for specimen handling
- Use appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Maintain good customer service etiquette
- Adhere to a schedule for a specific route
- Communicate immediately when there is a customer problem or complaint
- Assure specimens picked up are labeled appropriately
- Ensure specimens are kept at the appropriate temperature
- Maintain a current driver's license and active auto insurance policy
- Occasionally deliver supplies to offices
Promptly ships outgoing orders placed by clients, offices, and remote employees and ensures the accuracy of the product shipped.
Receives incoming orders and inventories product received.Organizes the warehouse and maintains a clean and clutter free environment.Prints labels for and properly packages FedEx and UPS shipments.Takes out trash such as boxes and clutter.Grounds keeping such has below leaves out of the parking lot.Taking the vehicles to be maintained.Performances vehicle checklists daily.Required Skills / Abilities :
A clean 10-year driving recordCurrent driver's license and insurance policyVisual and auditory acutenessEducation and Experience :
A high school diploma or equivalent is requiredPhysical Requirements :
Ability to sit for long periods and perform kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 10 lbsOther Duties
