We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Packaging Engineer in Morton, IL.

Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. PSLD is responsible for the worldwide distribution of Cat aftermarket parts, integrated logistics, and global service to develop and support our global dealer network and customers.

What You Will Do

• This Packaging Engineer executes solutions on packaging design and usage and related safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Design control for 664 corrugated and paperboard materials; maintain and improve current designs to meet safety, quality, velocity, and cost goals.
• Create new solutions to support network operations and dealer needs.
• Inventory management actions to achieve optimal balance between availability and turn.
• Schedule collaboration to improve availability.
• Joint Process Improvement projects with strategic suppliers.
• Design new packaging for products based off key performance indicators.
• Providing detailed guidance and specifications to suppliers.
• Evaluate quality and effectiveness of existing packaging; address supplier issues caused by manufacturing defects.

Salary and Benefits

Summary Pay Range : $87,480.00 - $131,280.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple factors. Salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
