Grounds Maintenance Worker / Semi-skilled Laborer

The City of McMinnville Urban Forestry Department is looking for an initiative driven individual who has a passion for working outdoors. This position executes the care and maintenance of the trees and landscape areas throughout the City of McMinnville. An ideal candidate will be self-starter with initiative who is a multi-tasker. The position performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled construction maintenance and landscaping work using hand and pneumatic tools.

This salary for this position is paid based on experience with a minimum starting salary of $38,043. The schedule is Monday through Friday, eight (8) hours per day.

The City also offers an ample amount of paid time off. Annual time is accrued 48 hours year one increasing to 96 hours in year two plus 48 hours of personal time. Sick time is accrued monthly beginning day one.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• High School degree
• Two (2) three (3) years of experience in tree, landscape and lawn maintenance with knowledge of the use of landscape pesticides
• Possession of a valid operator's license
• Physically able to lift and carry 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally
